 Doug Watson not only knows the digital printing industry, he revolutionizes it.
Specializing in custom print materials and converting technologies, Doug holds several patents for high tech innovations that have taken the industry by storm. Doug’s inventions demonstrate his engineering and design expertise. Doug is credited with:
- Designing and manufacturing custom converting equipment for die cutting, coating, and magnetizing.
- Inventing Clingit!, a remarkable, patent-pending product that holds like a magnet, but removes like a Post-It.
- Developing technologically-advanced bar code label and hardware products.
Doug’s career achievements also include:
- 32+ years in the printing industry
- Chairing the Indigo Omnius User’s Group
- Serving as consultant to major corporations considering digital print equipment
- Assisting HP Indigo users as a troubleshooter and problem solver
- Earning certification as an ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
While at Watson Label Products, Doug led the company to ISO 9001 status, designed systems and controls for precision manufacturing, led inspection and inventory control, and fostered unprecedented company growth. Doug was also one of the first printers in North America to purchase an HP Indigo press, adding to his expertise with coating materials for these digital printers. He holds a degree in business management from Geneva College.
